Inspiring Circumstances {heart hiding 16/14}

Inspiring Circumstances {heart hiding 16/14}  Heart Hiding is hiding God’s Word in our heart by memorizing whole books of Scripture.  To read more go to the Heart Hiding page.

This is Week 14 of Heart Hiding, memorizing 2 Corinthians 11-13,  where we are memorizing  2 Corinthians chapter 11, verses 25-26:

25  Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep;

26  In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;

2 Corinthians 11:25-26

Were many of the Christians of Paul’s day subjected to these torments?  Or was he singled out because of his high-profiled ministry for Jesus Christ?

These are not circumstances to which we would aspire, yet they are what God chose to use in Paul’s life.  It was through and during much of this that his letters to the churches were written, and the bulk of our New Testament theology.  Thus, the title Inspiring Circumstances.
