heart hiding, Scripture Memorization

Another Jesus {heart hiding 16/2}

Another Jesus {heart hiding 16/2}  Heart Hiding is hiding God’s Word in our heart by memorizing whole books of Scripture.  To read more go to the Heart Hiding page.

This is Week 2 of Heart Hiding, memorizing 2 Corinthians 11-13,  where we are memorizing  2 Corinthians chapter 11, verses 3 and 4:

3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

2 Corinthians 11:3-4

Paul suggests that the believers in Corinth might be exposed to another Gospel, another Jesus, one different from  Paul’s preaching.

Faith of Our Fathers

Faith of our fathers! living still in spite of dungeon, fire, and sword:  O how our hearts beat high with joy whene’er we hear that glorious word!  Faith of our fathers! holy faith!  We will be true to thee till death!

Our father, chained in prisons dark, were still in heart and conscience free:  how sweet would be their children’s fate, if they, like them, could die for thee!  Faith of our fathers! holy faith!  We will be true to thee till death!

Faith of our fathers! we will love both friend and foe in all our strife:  And preach thee, too, as love knows how, by kindly words and virtuous life:  Faith of our fathers! holy faith!  We will be true to thee till death!  Amen.

Inspiring Hymns #323

Leaning On the Everlasting Arms

What a fellowship, what a joy divine, leaning on the everlasting arms;  What a blessedness, what a peace is mine, leaning on the everlasting arms.

Oh, how sweet to walk in this pilgrim way, leaning on the everlasting arms;  Oh, how bright the path grows from day to day, leaning on the everlasting arms.

What have I to dread, what have I to fear, leaning on the everlasting arms;  I have blessed peace with my Lord so near, leaning on the everlasting arms.

Chorus:  Leaning, leaning, safe and secure from all alarms;  Leaning, leaning, leaning on the everlasting arms.
