heart hiding, Scripture Memorization

Base or Bold? {heart hiding 15/40}

Base or Bold? {heart hiding 15/40}  Heart Hiding is hiding God’s Word in our heart by memorizing whole books of Scripture.  To read more go to the Heart Hiding page.

This is Week 40 of Heart Hiding, memorizing 2 Corinthians 6-10.  How are you doing, my friend?  Don’t be discouraged.  Just keep working at it, and don’t give up.  I can personally testify to God’s faithfulness in this discipline, under the most trying circumstances.

This is Week 40 of Heart Hiding, memorizing 2 Corinthians 6-10,  where we are beginning  2 Corinthians chapter 10, verses 1 and 2:

1 Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in presence am base among you, but being absent am bold toward you:

2 But I beseech you, that I may not be bold when I am present with that confidence, wherewith I think to be bold against some, which think of us as if we walked according to the flesh.

2 Corinthians 10:1-2

Paul begins a new section of this letter, in which he addresses his own credentials, in which he uses the following descriptive words:  meekness, gentleness, base, bold, (three times), and confident (confidence).  What words would you use to describe yourself?  Can one be meek and bold at the same time?

This is the final chapter for 2015 — can you believe it???  Only seven weeks left, sixteen more verses!!

********Just a note about Scripture Typer, if you are using or considering using it.  Recently the non-mobile version underwent a huge update, which was a tad overwhelming at first.  First, if you have a comment or question, they are great about answering, and quite understanding.  And second, just hang in there until you get used to the new format.  In the long run it will be worth it.

If you have a comment or question for me, please use the comment box at the end of the post or the contact form at the top of the page.

Don’t forget to review the previous weeks’ verses 🙂

The key to memorization is review!

Review 2 Corinthians 6:1-18; 7:1-16; 8:1-24; 9:1-15.

Have a great week working on these verses.  See you next Sunday.  God bless.

    Hi Joyce, great questions!

What words would you use to describe yourself?
“aspiring to be more like Christ” – that is about all I can think of right now. What about you?

Can one be meek and bold at the same time?
I believe so. Christ seems like our great example – like when the disciples got the donkey and he sat on it – I just looked it up in Matthew 21, verse 5 describing Him as meek. Or like when He washed the disciples’ feet. And yet He confronted the Pharisees and other hypocrites quite boldly. And then somewhere else it talked about they were astonished at His teaching because He spoke as one with authority and not as the scribes. So He seems like the ultimate example for us.
