Snow Playing and Heart Hiding {Week 1}

The children went home yesterday.  What a day it was!  My car would not start, they missed their flight, rescheduled, got a friend to pick them up after work and take them to the airport, arriving home safely at 1 am.  Little one was a good traveler, popular with the flight attendants.  He cut two new teeth while he was here.

As for my car, I waited all day for AAA to show up at 7 pm.  Ended up buying a new battery.  Enough said.

The house is very quiet today.  Now it is Week one of my Bible memory verses, or Heart Hiding {Week 1}.

2014 Heart Hiding {week 1}

Tub of snow to play with while Mommy played outside in the snow.

So excited to start memorizing a new book, or part of one, this year!  Here are the verses for this week, Jan. 5 – 11.  My week starts on Sunday and ends on Saturday. I am memorizing 2 Corinthians chapters 1 – 5 in 2014.

Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, unto the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints which are in all Achaia:

Grace be to you and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Cor. 1:1-2 (KJV)

What Scripture are you memorizing?  This is my fourth year working on a book. Every year it gets better.  The goal is to learn two verses per week, for a total of around one hundred verses.  Sounds daunting, but done two at a time it is simply amazing.  It’s a wonderful way to see God work in us, as the meaning of the passages sinks in.  Hard to explain the intangible, but still wonderful.

    Joyce, thank you for the encouragement to memorize bible verses. Just this morning I picked out my first one for this year to learn (Psalm 147:11). I want to be more consistent again with this – your post was perfectly timed for me. 🙂

    Blessings ~ Wendy
