Fruit Bearing

Tagged and categorized all posts, sent a bunch to the trash, which basically said nothing. Started with 33, down to 16 or so. It’s taking me awhile to get used to WordPress. I like it though. Need to spend consistent time writing here.

One thing that will help meet that goal is limiting the number of working blogs and not spreading myself so thin. Have always had high goals and kept myself to them, but now that I’m listening more to my Father that is not necessary. Learning to do less, be more.

Just going through and organizing two blogs has been a learning experience. Sad to see how much time is spent on non-essentials. Much more time spent in prayer and planning, or just plain listening, would bear more fruit.

Fruit bearing is not accomplished by the tree. It is not planned for or provided or nourished by the tree. What a crazy image that brings to mind, to think of a tree working to make the fruit appear! The tree does not move. It bends with the wind, but it does not move of its own volition.

You, the writer, are to be as a tree planted by the rivers of water, which bringeth forth its fruit in its season. Not when you decide. Not when you generate the fruit, but when the Father does. Your job is to abide in Him . John 15 speaks of the Vine and the branches, of necessary pruning.

You, writer, are to be an empty vessel. Not one which is nowhere to be found, but one who is available when and where the Master can use according to His Divine purpose and plan.

So much to learn. Thank You, Father, for Your unending patience and Grace!

“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.” 2 Cor. 4:7
