Yes, it is July, and yes, it is the first day of school for one school which goes the year round. The first day lived up to its reputation for ultimate confusion, as the weather and circumstances worked together to make life difficult. But at the end of the day there is always tomorrow to look forward to, which has to be easier than today.
It never rains here to speak of. It rained in downpours this morning when the students were being collected. The bus driver always has a list of the students to be picked up and delivered. Not today. Teachers are always at the buses being of assistance as the children board the bus. Not today. The students always know where their bus stop is, or at least where they live. Not today. Students always know their bus number and board the correct bus. Not today. Students always listen when spoken to by an adult. Not today. Adults are always cool, calm, and collected in tense situations and extreme heat. No, not today.
You get the picture. All in all, it was a good day, a day of learning, of understanding, of patience, and growing. Parents are always understanding when their children are dropped off at the wrong location and at a much later time than planned for. Parents do, after all is said and done, love their children and want what is best for them. Always.
